These are not investigators or auditors, they are debt collectors. They are lying to you. They are threatening you to try to get you to pay. The nice one is "playing you."

You should not talk to them on the phone. They will continue their games until you can't sleep or eat. You need to get copies of your credit reports and see who this is. They are not going to tell you! They are trying to convince you they are investigators for the bank. They are not. They work for a collection agency.
