Linda, Thanks for the helpful tips. Can you please clarify: When you sue for violations do you sue both the collection agency and the credit bureau individually, or just the collection agency?. In other words, if the collection agency did not respond to my validation letter i have a violation of $1,000 towards them, and another violation of $1,000 towards the credit bureau if the bureau did not properly verify my claim. Is that correct?? Also, if I made a payment on a debt in '96 and the credit bureau is now saying my last payment was in '99 is it just my word against theirs if they don't have concrete proof. Who prevails without concrete proof?? Thanks so much for your help. If you could respond to this at wiln2chat@aol.com I would really appreciate it. I rarely get to these boards. william
