If they just got the account it takes a while for stuff to show up oncredit reports. Part of the"pay for delete" letter is to keep them from reporting anything to a CRA.If you pay, then dispute with the CRA's noone can verify as they run the risk of violations.At the very worse the original creditor information will stay on,but can not be re-aged as there is no left over unpaid $$
