for your advice - I greatly appreciate it.

I am almost afraid to ask this but, what is the worst that could happen to her if I turn her in? She has no record.

I would like to rule out EVERY other option before I would consider that.

I really have nothing except my house, so bancruptcy is an option provided that the house can't be taken. The bad credit doesn't matter since she is the only one that would use it anyway...
Might the creditors (all unsecured charges), leave my house (paid), alone if I did file bancrupty and their were many cards with smaller balances, rather than one or two cards with huge balances? Are their certain banks that would more likely, go after assets? These cards are all still in perfect standing and have never been late. I understand that the bancruptcy laws might change within six months. I am afraid if I wait and the laws change, and THEN I try to file it will be too late. Should I talk to a lawyer? I thought about it, but was concerned he may try to force me to turn her in. I need time to decide what to do. Neither one of us can just pay them off, this is almost as much money as I make in two years.

I am really not sure what I am going to do yet, I just want to know my options are. Thanks again.
