HELP! When my wife was younger she became ill and had to be treated at a hospital while on vacation. She had no job and no insurance at the time. The hospital wrote off the treatment and provided a letter stating the same. Now as we get older and prepare to buy a house we find that all the doctor's bills appear on her account with collection agencies. Do we owe this money even though the hospital wrote it off?
