I purchased an item from a catalog three years ago. A collection agency is now telling me I never paid the catalog for the purchased item, even though they sent me the item. Am I required to show proof of purchase through credit card statement or cancelled check? Is it not the catologs fault for sending me this item without first receiving payment. I did in fact pay for it with a credit card.
