OK- Oregon has some VERY tough laws on collection agencies. Go to the post about "General Information" go to the link on State SOL's
Under Oregon you will see the list of restrictions for out-of State collectors. Send them a cease and desist with a copy of the phrase relating to out of State collection activities, state it is a violation of the FDCPA to threaten legal action that they are not permitted by law to carry out. Dispute the account as "in error". PUT IN THIS PHRASE" This is not a refusal to pay,but a dispute of the accuracy of your claim"
This phrase prevents them from claiming you have verified your debt.
