Is this one debt? Was it a credit card debt? When were you FIRST late on it. Have yo checked your credit reports? If your mail was forwarded you should have received SOMETHING ! Are you sure this is a legitimate collection agency? Have they sent ANYTHING to you in writing at your current address? Frequently "con-scam artists" see your applications for credit and try to extort money on over-age debtss that they actually have NO clam to.
