As far as I know, if you are not listed with your ss # on the cd, and if there is no record anywhere other than your "free" checking account, I would suggest closing that checking account before you file, and reopen one somewhere else.When you actually file, you MUST tell the BK lawyer that you closed the checking account and reopened one in another bank. You do not have to divulge anything that you actually have no ownership interest in.
