I do read your posts. I guess I am just having problems understanding what legal right a 3rd party comes in and determines your agreement with Joe Blow was not fair and now wants YOU to pay HIM the balance of what Joe Blow agreed to and what the original debt was.

Maybe, you mean collection agencies that have PREVIOUSLY been contacted will continue to sell your account even if settlement has been made with the original holder. Wow--this is dirty. I just don't understand what legal right they have to continue to ding anyone. I am sorry but, though I believe you, I don't understand this. I doubt many others do either. Some 3rd party just decides to come in and demand more payment on a settled account??? Does a person ever end up paying double--once to the coll. agency AND to the Original creditor.

I am sorry if my question irritates you--but I doubt seriously if many follow this very well.

Robyn
