If it is an installment loan account, not secured by any collateral, your statute of limitations for being sued in Fl. possible past. If so, you are probably better off not doing anything,or paying anything to anyone. Any "settlement" you make will just start the clock running again on your 7 year reporting time.The easiest way to find out who is in control of your account, is to dispute it with a credit bureau,if it gets verified, then you ask who is reporting it and send them a validation letter. That will get you the required information you need as to what authority they have to collect on and report on the account.
