Depending on the severity of your credit problems, it CAN be a wonderful thing. To get a fresh start, to be able to be home and be able to answer you telephone and know its NOT a collector or creditor; to not have to lose sleep worrying about whether or not you're going to be sued and end up homeless or destitute ! To know that, for a change, you'll be able to put some money away for retirement rather than always having to 'pay bills' with every single penny you ever get. To know that your wages won't be garnished until you die to pay off debts.. the list goes on ! :)

For some it IS a relief. Credit report doesn't matter if you're at that point, your credit is already hopelessly screwed up, so a bankruptcy on your report doesn't mean a much at all.
