Thank you :) It was a horrible blow, and on top of that, one of the firemen lost was a 'kid' he practically raised.. they only found his body about a month ago, so it HAS been very hard. Actually, there IS a "mini-miranda" on the bottom of the letter, so I'm wondering what/who I'm dealing with. These WFFNB people are really rude. I spoke to on of their people in their collection dept a week before the charge-off, and this moron was rude enough to suggest that, as a woman, I could make money any time.. all I had to do was stand on a street corner !!! I wish I'd had that on tape, suggesting that I prostitute myself for their lousy account. Needless to say, I had a few choice gutter phrases for him and then I hung up on him.
I only wish there was something to rein in these creditors in the same way that the FDCPA works on collectors.
