Well, I have just signed on and started reading through today's problems and advise? I felt I just had to say something to you, "Bahamas" Christine. You sounded way too smug and holier than thou. But maybe that was the reaction you hoped to get. Well this is from "Euro" who is now living in the US and not some island.

I am extremely happy for you, that you are living in the Bahamas and do not work. Good for you! But is it because you do not have to work or because you do not want to work. You are preaching to us that you travel a "long distance" to purchase food for your family. Obviously, since you do not work and you never mention children, you must have a lot of time on your hands to be able to search out all these wonderful and cheap grocery deals. You mention that your husband pays child support. However, does he pay enough to enable his ex to take care of the kids like they should be taken care off or does she have to work a few jobs to make ends meet even with his support payments? There are a lot of us here in the US who make supposedly "good money". Well, I can tell you that living in this metro area there are no "hills" I can go over to find cheaper prices on food. I don't receive public assistance because I definitely do not qualify. I am able to afford my groceries since I buy very little for one person, support 3 children, pay my utilities, do not have a car payment, but let me tell you that I do not have any money left over after paying all my bills. I make about 3 times what poverty level is. So, how can you sit on your high horse and put someone down when they have to charge groceries on a credit card. Maybe you need to live in the UNITED STATES for a while before you can pass judgement.
