I need a good attorney willing to take action against Equifax Information Services of Atlanta Ga.

In March 1998 the State of SC filed two tax liens against me and 4 days later withdrew the liens citing "the warrants were filed in error". All three major CRAs picked it up and reported it variously as owed, paid, and released. I didn't know they were on the report until February of this year (should have checked my report yearly). Trans-Union and Experian immediately removed the items when I contacted them in March. Equifax has refused to respond to six letters, several of which include the documents themselves.

My Equifax report shows reference to the documents withdrawing the liens and therefor they are (or should have been) aware of the State's error.

I have been refused a car loan, apartment lease, and credit cards since March each citing "negative public record information" found in an Equifax report. This issue is the only public record in my report.

I believe that Equifax is in clear violation of the FCRA, that they have negligently defamed my character, and sadly caused "loss of affection" since my wife is rather upset by our inability to buy a car or rent an apartment.

Further, Equifax may be continuing to report other line credit/collections in error. Their only response to me has been five letters requesting a copy of my social security card/drivers license/etc... which has been provided each time.

I have begun cc: each reply they send me and that I make to the FTC but believe at this point that litigation is the only possible resolution.
