A validation request,by itself, answered or unanswered has little effect.A cease and desist will stop them from any further collection actiities, EXCEPT legal action and response to verificaton requests from credit bureaus. A dispute will be noted on your credit reports. IF you dispute it with the credit bureaus also,it will be removed if the ca does not validate TO THEM within 30 days.None of this has ANYTHING to do with the allowed legal collection activity. If you are past the SOL for being sued, you should notify the ca that the ALLEGED account is past the date for filing suit.If you are within the SOL for being sued, you should prepare yourself to answer such a suit.
