If they are representing the original creditor in filing legal action, and NOT doing any "collection" activity. they are NOT subject to FDCPA.If the account has been assigned to them for collection, they MUST contact you in writing wthin 5 days of calling you. If the account has been SOLD to them they MUST follow the same FDCPA rules, but THEY (as owners) can file suit.
