They are one of the most "UNSCRUPULOUS" CA's in history. They and their subsidiaries (OSI, Account Portfolio) have previous violated Federal statutes regarding collection. Send them a nasty "CEASE & DESIST" letter immediately telling them they ARE NOT to call your place of employment or home - registered mail, return receipt to document proof. DO NOT talk to them on the phone because they will harass you. DO NOT MAKE ANY AGREEMENTS WITH THEM. It is a Federal violation to request post-dated checks. Keep a chronological log of who and when they call. How old is the debt? It may very well be beyond the SOL so making any agreement with them could potentially extend the reporting period to CRAs. If 7 yrs or old they legally cannot report to CRAs.
