Authorized User responsibility

I was an authorized user on a credit card. The primary holder never used the card, and never made payments. I was the one who made all the payments till it was paid off. However, I had missed a few payments and of course they show up on both our reports as derogatory. In trying to fix my credit, I'm exploring the possibility of claiming myself as an authorized user, therefore have the report taking off my credit. It doesnt seem fair to the primary holder, but other than my personal feelings about it, is this possible? If so, what do I do?
