My husband has been contacted by a collection agency for a debt his ex-wife has declared bankruptcy on back in 1993. We are not sure where the credit card originally came from because my husband was out of the country at the time his ex got it. (He is active duty military). The credit card could have come from Ohio, their divorce was in Texas and his state of residency is Texas but at the moment we live in Virginia because of the military. The last activity reported on the credit card was in 1993. My question is has the statute of limitations expired and if not in which state could they sue him and which state's statue of limitations apply.
