This is a scam collection scheme. The statute of limitations for being sued is long since over in any of the State's you mentioned. Plus it is 2 years past even being reported on his credit report. These scavenger collection agencies are digging up old records and contacting people to scare $$ out of them. If you are contacted again, get a name and address and phone # if you can, and report them to your State consumer fraud division,or if your husband is still active military there is a credit fraud assistance office.He would have had to have co-signed on the debt to have been legally liable in the first case.
