bought a lemon

2000- I bought a truck, 2nd day broke down, took it back to dealer, new motor,broke down next week, 2nd new motor,asked for my money back(they would not comply)My truck broke down again. question: I am pretty young so what happens if I just call the bank and have them come pick it up having a repo.Once they sell it am I responsible for the remaining balance? How long will that be on my credit report? How do I work around this lemon and get a vehicle that works?
