Ok I have filed bk last friday. But now a mysterious note came in from a lawyers office stating a amount of 168.30. We found out it was from a mail order medical assistant program that my wife sent for to complete via by telephone after a test is taking then she would call in 800 number to enter answers to score on a test. The lady said this was in 1997 we did not receive any bill or statement if so it was lost. I this to the person. And She told me that the company we bought this mail order school from sold its accounts to this company who did a audit and found our account which was in 1997. Is there a SOL on this type of service? Or should I add them to the bk filing before court date comes about lawyer will charge $50.00. This was before we got married as well. They said since course was 15 % done that they could collect on it. But this is first attempt ever made to collect on this debt in 6 years. Or should I pay 50 4 to add to bk filing?
