You could probably dispute it away,validate it away etc. but it would cost you as much in postage as the $50. filing fee-pay the fee,add it on (do wait and see if anything else crops up if you can) Your wife might check her credit report for an inquiry from one of those scavenger search outfits,unless you guys were smart enough to have opted out of unsolicited inquiries.
