I requested a CA validate a 12,000 cc debt (from the year 2000), and in 45 days they have not. What rights do they have??? My next step is to send a cease and desist letter, and a dispute to the CRA's. What else can I do to protect myself???? I am assuming that this particular CA cannot try to collect on me anymore, but I am assuming they can still sell the debt. Is this true?? My main concern is a judgement or lawsuit, and since this is a pretty large amount, I would rather pay it off, or at least start to, before it comes to that if it's going to go to a lawsuit anyways eventually. I know this is a lot of questions. I appreciate any help, I am just nervous about the prospect of a lawsuit.
