I opted out late last summer, but continue to get promotional inquiries on my reports. I decided to take it up with the bureaus. One of the lenders who took a peek was Chase Mortgage - I disputed their inquiry. I am not a Chase customer at all. Next thing I knew, I got a letter of apology from Chase. I must admit I was impressed. They said they were sorry they didn't meet my expectations, LOL.

When all those supposedly soft inquiries were deleted, my score jumped 14 points!!!
