is CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR bad?

It sounds like a silly question, but it is serious. I'm disputing an account with TransUnion that was closed by the Macy's in 1993. The balance was paid in Jan 1994. The refuse to remove it because it is not adverse credit information. CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR sounds bad to me, especially if the company is still in business. Any thoughts? How should I proceed?
