Try Metro PCS (do a web search or www.metropcs.com, I think). Find out if they provide coverage in your area (I am in Atlanta, GA). No credit-check. Just plain unlimited local calling with a monthly bill of $35 ($40 with voicemail, Caller ID and such stuff). Long distance has to be prepaid, first fill-up $10.00 and subsequent fill-up any amount would do. The phone they offer is Kyocera 2235, real nice. Up front price for phone/activation in about $130. Only long distance is prepaid...
