I have a judgement on record from Sears, entered in 04/00. My question is, I recently received the first letter I have gotten since the judgement from the attorney, with an increase in the amount by about 1500, (I am sure for interest since the judgement.) Can they continue to add interest and fees after receiving judgement, or is that it, and also what can they do afterwards, it has been two years, and they are threatening "further legal activity", I know that if I sell my house, they will get their money then from equity, but I thought that once they received a judgement, the fees and interest would at least stop adding up. They are a collection agency attny. I am in Georgia. Can I send them a cease and desist letter now (after the fact) All of this happened before I found this site, so I would have probably done things differently, but anyway, here I am.
