I need to know the Statute of limitations for Ohio on a credit card debt. I am trying to get a mortgage on my first house and one of my creditors from a 6 year old debt is really giving me a hard time. The mortgage company requires that I be making payments I don't have to have everything payed off. The original debt to this creditor was $1400 now they say it's $2900 with fees and interest. They bought the debt from the original source. My wife called them to make arrangments for payments so we could get a house and they say they will take nothing less than a $1400 lump settlement ... which I do not have. They will not talk to me about payments and they say they are going to take me to court. I have found lots of sights that list the SOL for Ohio at 6 years for credit card accounts but the creditor says it is 7.

Any info would be greatly appreciated
