A CA is trying to collect on an old debt that is long past SOL (I'm fighting that one on another front). I ordered my Credit Reports to be sure that it is not being reported, but what I found was the original creditor had listed on my credit report that they had sold the debt to another lender - it shows balance as 0 and is not listed as a negative, but it shows that the accounts were sold. This was to be completely off my reports three years ago - can the original creditor do that? Can I contest the listing of it on my credit report. Thanks for any help.
