CO Items in BK still showing as Collections

I have been going through my credit report for the last couple of months. Cleared a lot of stuff up. But, I have on problem: On my TransUnion report, there are items that were included in my Ch. 7 BK discharged in '97. I got the BK to finally show up on the credit report, but it still shows as a current collection record? This doesn't make sense. The collection record notations are killing my FICO. Also, I disputed an AT & T collection item on my Experian last month. It wasn't on any other report and was not mine. This month, it shows up on TransUnion. What is the deal? Can they do this? Finally, I have hospital bill items showing as collections. Do I need to as creditor for validation first or do I dispute the charges on my report first?
