My mortgage is in default because of an error on the part of the mortgage company which causes them to not accept my payments until the problem is corrected - it's now been four months. In the meantime, my attorney said to use the payment money for repairs so I can sell my home - which is my end goal at some point in time. Now, I do not have money to catch up the mortgage and the mortgage company is not responding to my attorney's - now ex-attorney's - letters.

Will a HUD agency be able to help with this even though the fault is the mortgage company's?
