original contract with Discover

I went to my second hearing about Discovercard. I said I need proof that Midfirst bank attorney really bought my debt from Discover. Attorney said they had ordered it and was on its way this week. Question: If they bought the debt, why dont they already have the original contract I signed with Discover? Also, since they are in the 2nd hearing with me, why didnt they already have it, to prove to me right there that they have a right to collect?
