I sent a validation letter to First Resolution for a charge off debt from Mar of 89 with Capital One. I had believed this to be paid off, but I understand that because I took a settlement, they can still come after me for the difference. I never received a tax reporting form from Capital One. I am in Michigan. Anyway, First Resolution's response to me was a letter that said: "We are in receipt of your dispute. We are enclosing the following document for your review: a copy of the bill of sale for this account. The original creditor is Capital One, located at PO Box..." etc showing the address. They then ask me to call them to confirm receipt of the letter. The so called copy of bill of sale is a photocopy with no mention anywhere of me specifically...it only says "the accounts identified in the attached schedule" and they did not attach the schedule to show me on the list. It is not on any kind of letterhead...it kind of looks homemade. There is a mini miranda at the bottom of the letter. They did not give me any of the information I asked for in the validation. Are they required to? I could really use some guidance. I'm not sure how to attach a file, or I would attach a sample of the letter I sent. Thanks for the help!
