I looked on my credit file and the last report- update status on the charge off was March 2002; that was only 3 MONTHS AGO!! Also someone advised me not dispute as "not mine" because the credit bureaus will flag my file and it would be hard for me to get it remove. Instead, I was advised to dipute it as being paid off, but I do not think that would be a smart move because I do not have any paper work to show it as being paid. I'm thinking maybe I should leave it alone and just wait until the charge off comes off in 2003. Also Joanne, I called tht number you gave me: 908-686-2000...all I got was a loud annoying sound which sounds like a fax machine. I want to thank all of you for responding to my post. Sharon
