I had a Judgement for a medical bill, part of which was taken out of a checking acct.as a levy. The remainder I sent to the credit bureau. Months later I requested a credit report which showed judgement not paid. I called credit bureau ,sent proof of payment & was informed server had lost paper work. Today I was served by the court that they are levying my account for the 1400.00 I paid to credit bureau. I will call & try to straighten out. Although I feel injustice here, the embarrasment, due to visitors who were at our house & witnessed serving of papers, if they garnish my account my house payment etc. will bounce causing more embarrasment & credit problems. Also I live in a small town where everyone at the bank knows you, once was bad enough.I don't need this. What do you advise?
