I had CAMCO come after me recently for a debt from long ago. I wrote them a letter asking for validation that they purchased my debt and for the original contract of the debt, in addition to an account of all transactions. I reminded them of the FCRA and the SOL in my state. I sent this Certified, return receipt. I can't remember if I gave them 30 or 60 days to reply. But, they never did. I have kept a copy of the letter and the receipt that was returned in case they ever pull this on me again. They are nothing but a bunch of lying scumbags who want to take advantage of the illinformed. Let them know you know your rights and hopefully they will leave you alone.
