Thank You so much for the advice. If we start paying like 25 a month, is what you said, they won't garnish? Or will they still? They have already taken the tax returns, but I file injured spouse and since the house we just bought is only in my name, the deductions from that will go to me. We both work for the same company and it is a small company, they would not let my husband go for another garnishment...I know that for a fact, they even already know his school loans are in default. We work in mental health and for some reason, most companies in this field are so much more understanding. My husband does not own anything. Everything is in my name. All the loans, Stafford loans, are with the same company. My husband did have a judgement put against him by the Perkins Loan people around 3 or 4 years ago, but they have not done anything. A few days before it was to go to court, my husband called to set up payment arrangements, it was around 6 thousand, and they never returned the call. We have not heard from them since. Only know there is a judgement because it is on his credit report. We live in Kansas, and unless they renew, I think the judgement goes away in a year or two. Don't know why they have not come after him on it yet.
