I'm trying to pay a CA, but they aren't responding...

I have had several CC accts go to collections. In efforts to salvage what's left of my credit history, I settled most of the accts. with the CA with the stipulation they remove their entry from credit report, which they have done. However, I still have the OC listing on my credit report with a notation "acct. transferred/sold" in some cases it even lists who the acct. was transferred or sold to. My issue is, it looks like I still have these outstanding debts, when in fact they each have been settled through CAs. Is there anyway I can write to the OC and ask them to remove their listing from my credit report, explaining to them these accts were settled through collections. Now, what I don't want to happen is to have the CA entry reappear on my credit report. Neither do I want the OC to make a notation of "paid collection".

Part. 2. I had a retail card, that had a $200 limit. Its several years old and the last activity date has been about 6 yrs. The balance they are reporting is $528, which I know I'm not paying. Anyhow, I've tried for the past 3 yrs. to settle this acct. with the OC, but they have not responded to any of my written request in a manner I see fit, and legal. Now, the CRAs have been saying they were able to verify this debt, I called them out on that and had it removed. It was impossible for them to validate the debt when I've been trying to 3 yrs! Now, it seems that OC has assigned my account to a CA. The CA has made it entry on my credit report, which I'm not happy about because most of my derogatory information is more than 6 yrs old. I have tried to have the CA verify the debt with no luck.

I'm getting ready to apply for a private educational loan. My credit history has been perfect for the past 2.5 yrs, since I've been out of school working fulltime. My credit card balances are at $0.00. If I charge, I pay immediately after before the billing cycle ends. I don't have time to dispute this matter with the CA. I've offered to settle for the credit limit the OC gave me, which was $200. I haven't heard from them! I'm thinking I should just put a check in the mail for $200, on the back write the acct number and a statement that this debt is satified in full accordance. If they cash it, then I'm home free. However, that doesn't give me any leverage or assurance they will change or remove their listing from my credit report. Any suggestions?
