They tried all their scare tactics on me. They wanted me to arrange a payment plan, which I think would have restarted the SOL. I refused then asked this board what to do. They had called me at work and also tried to pull the moral card saying I stole from the company they were representing. I informed the person that they were causing me extreme mental distress by yelling at me and calling, yet they continued. They told me that they would sue and report it to my credit file...They are the worst of the worst and try to feed upon peoples ignorance. They almost had me going too...I was in the process of buying a house and was so scared they would mess that up. But, thanks to this board i came to my senses.

So, send them a Cease and Desist and a request for validation letter. Let them know that it is fraud on their part if they report a debt that is that old to the CRA. Tell them that they are past the SOL in the letter (when they called me, they tried to tell me they weren't and that they were not a collection agency). Then, report them to the attorney general in your state and Illinois.

A lawsuit against them sounds great to me. How can we get one started? Any ideas? I swear they had caused me extreme mental distress that interfered with my work and daily living.
