Yes , they MUST send you a letter with a "mini-miranda" within 5 days after first telephone contact. Yes a collection agency, even if it is "part" of the cc company is required to follow the same laws as any other collection agency.If you send them ANYTHING -all you will do is re-age the account for being sued and make things worse for yourself in any court action, as you will be acknowledging the debt.
