Repo is off report, But collect still haunting me

I had a repo in 1991 in the state of NC ,that came off
of my report in 1998. But, how long can the collection
remain on my report. Date of last activity for the
collection is 06/1995. From what I have read it should
be off of it because the org date of deleq was 1991.
