Rules on derogatory credit reporting

I paid my car payment the day prior to the next payment coming
due, which happened to be the 30th day. Chrysler Financial
reported me 30 days late to the credit reporting agencies. I
have otherwise perfect credit, I spoke with my other creditors,
they say that they don't report thirty days late until the next
payment is due.

I have asked Chrysler to review this, I think it is very unfair,
I pay on time every month and this was just a mistake.

Anyone know what the law is reagarding what defines 30 days
late? Any ideas for recourse?

Thanks!
