If you mailed the payment in on that day, then it wouldn't be
credited to the account until it was physically received and
processed.

Even if the payment arrived on that day, there may be restrictions
regarding the *time of day* (e.g. "Payments received by 10AM will
be credited that day"), which could have pushed your payment into
the next day.

Quickly looking over the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I don't see
anything defining a "30-day delinquency."

Contacting Chrysler Financial is a good first step - maybe
directly ask them to remove the 30-day late from your credit
reports (yes, they *can* do it, regardless of what some creditor
employees claim.)

If that doesn't work, perhaps you could dispute the item with the
credit bureaus. Include copies of documentation (e.g. cancelled
checks), if possible.
