If you have a judgment pending, you should notify your bank of what funds you have that are exempted from seizure. This applies not only to student loan funds, but ss and ssi and sdi funds, workman's compenation settlement funds, pensions, some annuities and whatever other funds are exempted in your State.Unless you notify your bank in advance,the $$ are seized, and you have to file a petition with the court for their return.
