Do you have a written agreement with Chase? it should have said upon final payment due account number XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is considered settled in full amount due. Also written in agreement should be that they will report it on your credit reports as settled in full.
Its to late to negociate anything like a paid in full or upgrade in status of account but at least you will have proof of your agreement. If you don't have an agreement I would still phone them and ask for them to fax you a letter like this right away. Do Not take their word that they will not do this to you.
