And now the message board is rude too!! Your having a bad day. Don't let that get you down. I am not sure why this happened to you, a check you wrote doesn't clear and your bank doesn't notify you and charge you a bunch of money in NSF charges? Send the collection agency a validation letter, never call them again. Obviously they are a very unprofessional company you don't want to have to deal with. Have you ever heard of a program called Quicken? I use this as my electronic checkbook, I also use online banking. Every month the statement from the bank comes and I reconcile the statement to my quicken information. The program is fun and easy to work with. This way you always know what has gone though your account. You will never NSF a check again. I think it's the best financial program out there, (it does tons of other things to) also this way if the bank truly did make a mistake you would know right away. Don't you save your banking statement? Get a filing cabinet and some file folders. Get organized, I have mine for the last 5 years including my credit card statements. These are all the kinds of things one does to prevent mistakes from happening and if they do happen you are ahead of the game.( I have five purchases on my visa check card that have not gone through yet and its been 6 months.) Now if I didn't use Quicken I would never know that this has happened. Do yourself a favor and get Quicken (you don't even need to buy the most latest version) check out ebay to see if you can get one thats one or even two years old. The product really has not changed much since they first created it. I honestly couldn't live without it.
