I have recently received a threatning call from a collector for a old student loan that I have been paying on through taxes recently. The lady was trying to threaten me by trying to talk to the payroll department and I contacted the origional creditor complained to them and filed a formal complaint as well through the department of education and they took my account from the collection agency this way I can continue to pay them directly. The moral of this story complain, if you are set up for payments or send a Cease and Disist letter. Either way you can not run from a student loan and you will pay too much money in interest at the end and wish you made those small payments over a long period of time.
