If I did have some judgements filed against me, and I decided to do BK, then I can only claim $8,000 homestead exemption in Missouri. Wouldn't the court make me sell my house and give the balance, maybe about $13,000 to the creditors? That is my hesitance to do BK later. Right now we only have about $6,000 equity in our home. That is within the homestead exemption for BK. That is why we are considering BK at this time.

What laws might they change that won't affect me?
